Midnight Ember House · Sydney

Refined dining, dealt with atmosphere.

Flame-lit dishes and intimate rooms set the stage for an evening that pairs fine dining with the quiet intensity of a dedicated card lounge.

The Culinary Philosophy

Cooked Over Ember, Served with Intent

Our kitchen is built around live fire and the patience it demands. Every dish is a deliberate play—a balance of smoke, char, and restraint—plated to be savoured in the low light of our dining room.

Three principles guide our menu:

  • Fire as foundation: wood and charcoal for depth.
  • Seasonal Australian produce: sourced locally.
  • Plating that respects the ingredient's natural drama.

The Dining Rooms

Rooms That Hold Their Cards Close

The Main Dining Room

Low ceilings, dark timber, and leather banquettes create an intimate, candlelit setting. Ember-toned accents glow against the shadows, and the room comfortably seats up to 40 guests without losing its sense of privacy.

Private alcove with velvet drapes and a small table set for two

The Private Alcove

A secluded corner for small groups, wrapped in velvet drapes with a dedicated server. Ideal for quiet conversations or a pre-poker dinner before the game begins.

The Ember Bar

Adjacent to the card lounge, the Ember Bar offers craft cocktails and small plates. It is a place to read the room before the game, where the evening shifts naturally from plates to play.

Dining and the Card Lounge

From First Course to First Deal

Dinner at Midnight Ember House is often the prelude to an evening at the tables. Our menu is designed to be enjoyed at a considered pace, so you arrive at the card lounge focused and unhurried.

For those who prefer to keep the game close, our private dining alcove can be reserved alongside a poker table, allowing your party to move from plates to play without leaving the room.
